New Blog New Book!

New Blog

I have done it.  I have started a blog.

My blog is simply a motivational tool.  For too long now I have been telling myself that I need to spend more time on my creative pursuits. Sewing, crafting, painting … and everything in between.

The purpose of this blog is to encourage me to not only start new projects but to finish them too. I am hoping that by putting my ideas in writing I will feel a sense of obligation to actually follow them through … hopefully I can also entertain and inspire some others along the way.

So here it is.  Enjoy!

New Book

My first post is about a sewing book that I am oh so dying to get to work on.

While cruising sewing sites the other day I came across this very cute and simple dress posted by another sewing blogger.

Love it!

Check out her blog here JORTH! Whipping up a hand made life!

So I investigated where this gorgeous yet simple pattern came from and was delighted to find it linked back to my absolute favourite online fabric store Tessuti Fabrics and I just knew I had to have it!

20 minutes later the book was purchased … 5 days later it arrived!

Super excited to tear open the package and reveal what was inside, you can only imagine my sheer delight when I found the book was cleverly wrapped in nothing other than a sewing pattern!

Now I love Tessuti even more.

So here is a sneak peak of the book. Japanese, sleek, gorgeous photographs and even more gorgeous designs … the challenge now is to decipher the Japanese instructions, hopefully create something wonderfully wearable and show it to all of you!

Till next time x

    Hi!

So glad you like the book and also my dress. It was super fun to make.

Just in future, could you please check with me before you use my images? I’m always happy to grant permission, but do like to be asked!

Congrats on the blog! I for one intend to hassle you if you don’t follow through with your projects. And I am commissioning you to make me one of those dresses.

Would it be weird if both Kate and I had the same dress? Perhaps in a different colours or different pattern?

Only if you don’t mind having the same as me! Have to do a practice run on myself first.
I managed to download some Japanese sewing term translations, i have the fabric picked out and my plan is to sew it next week! stay tuned.
